Net Displays

A display using a mosquito net will help create interest around your NetsforLife campaign. Such displays don't necessarily need to take-up lots of space. The photos offered here are of displays at the diocese's Annual Convention in January 2011. Both involved mosquito netting. Reasonably priced mosquito nets in various sizes can be found at stores such as Dick's Sporting Goods. Those who are inclined to Do It Yourself craft projects, may be interested in these instructions:

  • buy a 7 or 8 ft. length of tulle fabric (bridal veils) and a hula hoop
  • cut the sparkly, colored cover from the hoop and hot glue the fabric to the white hoop core about 2 feet from one end of the fabric
  • tie a knot in the short end of the fabric and attach fishing line there to hang the "net"

To save money and creative energy, congregations in same area may want to consider sharing a net display, with Net Reps (see the Net Representatives master list) coordinating calendars to determine who gets the display and for how long.
